Actions

To achieve the improvement of the conservation status of the populations of amphibians Bombina variegata, Salamandrina terdigitata and Triturus carnifex and butterflies Euplagia quadripunctaria* and Eriogaster catax of habitats of open wet areas of the Foreste Casentinesi National Park., the WetFlyAmphibia project proposes the following actions:

Preparatory actions

• A1 Integration of knowledges about the distribution of populations of species of amphibians and butterflies and development of the procedures for the ex-situ breeding and relocation of amphibians

• A2 Identification of the populations of flora subject to collection, eco-phytosociological survey of the areas of intervention and development of the procedures for the ex-situ reproductive processes and vegetation restoration.

• A3 Technical planing of the interventions of the action C1

Concrete conservation actions

• C1 Implementation of interventions for the conservation and consolidation of European Interest amphibians and butterflies populations of wetlands

• C2 Reintroduction of individuals of Bombina variegata and Salamandrina terdigitata in the conservation and consolidation areas

Monitoring of the impact of the project actions
